I went to Dubai with my friends in July, and while many people online will say summer isn’t the best time to visit, I actually found it perfectly manageable. Dubai isn’t really a walking city—you’ll mostly take cabs or private transport—and almost all attractions are either indoors or open at night, so the heat barely affects your plans.

Indoor spaces like malls, restaurants, and hotels keep the temperature very low, which I personally appreciated. The only time I felt the heat was stepping outside briefly, like to smoke or walk between buildings.

Applying for a Dubai Tourist Visa

In my previous travels, I’ve always applied for visas myself—for countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia—but Dubai felt a bit different. The application process is stricter: names have to be entered in a specific format, and a lot of documentation is usually required. At first, I considered doing it myself, but I didn’t want to deal with forms, bank statements, and return flight details.

To make things easier, I decided to apply through an agent. There are many options online, but I went with Atlys. I chose them for a few reasons:

  • They are authorized by the Government of Dubai, so I knew it was safe.
  • They only needed a photo of my passport, unlike other agents who required flight tickets and bank statements.
  • My brother had used their services before and gave his recommendation.

Using Atlys was straightforward. The interface was simple, and the entire application process took only a few minutes to submit.

My Dubai eVisa Details

I applied for a Dubai tourist eVisa, which allowed me a 30-day stay and was valid for 60 days. It was a single-entry visa, meaning I could enter Dubai once during its validity. I submitted my application on June 9, 2025, and received approval on June 12, 2025—just 3 days later.

The total cost depends on your country of residence. Atlys charged me roughly $12 for their service, which I thought was completely worth it considering I didn’t have to submit additional documents or deal with complicated forms.

Receiving and Using the eVisa

Once approved, I received the eVisa directly in my email inbox. I downloaded the digital copy and used it both for departure from my country and immigration at Dubai airport. The immigration process in Dubai was smooth and quick, taking barely 5 minutes.

With the visa ready, I could enjoy my 10-day adventure in Dubai, United Arab Emirates without any stress. From desert buggy rides to indoor attractions like malls and theme parks, every day was packed with fun.

Final Thoughts

Getting a Dubai (UAE) tourist visa was easier than I expected, especially when using a trusted agent like Atlys. My advice for anyone planning a trip is to apply through a reliable agent, keep a digital copy of your eVisa, and don’t worry about traveling in summer—most attractions are indoors, and the city is well-prepared for heat.
